Vintage silver print on double-weight semi-matte paper 40,6 x 50,7 cm, in excellent condition. Black wooden frame 53 x 67 cm. Signed, titled and dated in pencil on the reverse. Struck by the early morning light, Mr. Wessel had spotted a man standing on a lawn staring at a flock of birds in flight at eye level. "As I approached this scene, the birds were feeding in the grass," he said. "Startled for some reason, they took flight. I instinctually shot, exposing three frames before they were gone. When I look at it now, I marvel at how much of the world is hidden in the flux of time."

Vintage-Silbergelatineabzug auf halbmattem "double-weight" Papier 40,6 x 50,7 cm, in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Schwarzer Holzrahmen 53 x 67 cm. Rückseitig signiert und datiert mit Bleistift. Durch das frühe Morgenlicht aufmerksam gemacht, bemerkte Wessel einen Mann, der auf dem Rasen stand und einen Augenhöhe fliegenden Vogelschwarm beobachtete. "Als ich mich dieser Szene näherte, saßen die Vögel im Gras", erzählt der Fotograf, "aber aus irgendeinem Grund flogen sie auf. Ich drückte instinktiv den Auslöser und schoß drei Bilder, bevor sie verschwunden waren. Wenn ich sie das jetzt ansehe, dann staune ich darüber, wie viel von der Welt im Fluss der Zeit verborgen ist".
