Raghu Rai, the first Indian photographer associated with Magnum Photos, is renowned for his powerful documentation of India's political, social, and cultural landscape. This photograph, taken in Delhi in 1977, shows former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi being escorted by Sikh security forces shortly after her electoral defeat following the Emergency period (1975–77).
