The MP2 (IMOOP) was the first experimental Leica M-camera for use with electric motor. It is one of the rarest and most valuable M-series Leicas on the collector's market. Around 15 cameras are known to exist worldwide today, about half of which are complete with the original MP2 electric motor. Only 21 chrome cameras were produced. It comes from the second batch of 15 cameras (nos.952001-952015). The offered camera is in near mint and 100% original condition, for the first time in auction, with the mint black (!) Wetzlar electric motor and matching Summilux 1.4/50mm no.1660871.- This is for sure one of the historically most important Leica cameras in amazing condition.

Die MP2 (IMOOP) war die erste M-Kamera mit Elektromotor in kleiner Serie für Testzwecke Ende der 50er Jahre gebaut. Sie zählt zu den seltensten und auf dem Sammlermarkt wertvollsten Leicas der M-Serie. Etwa 15 Kameras sind heute weltweit bekannt, wovon in etwa die Hälfte davon komplett mit dem originalen MP2-Elektromotor erhalten ist. Nur 21 Chrom Kameras wurden gefertigt. Die angebotene Kamera ist aus der zweiten Serie von 15 Kameras (Nummern 952001 - 952015). Die angebotene Kamera, erstmals auf einer Auktion, ist in fast neuwertigem Originalzustand, mit dem schwarzem (!) Wetzlar Elektromotor (Zustand ebenfalls neuwertig). Mit passendem Summilux 1.4/50mm Nr.1660871 - mit Sicherheit eine der historisch wichtigsten Leica M Kameras in Top Zustand.
