Gelatin silver print, toned, printed in 1994 from Polaroid T55-PN negative on double-weight semi-matte paper, flush-mounted on original board, in excellent condition. Signed and dated in pencil on the lower mount, photographer's stamp with handwritten signature, printing date, title, and image number "#366" in pencil on the reverse.

A graduate of New York's School of Visual Arts, Baril spent over fifteen years as Robert Mapplethorpe's master printer, which is reflected in the high command of technique in his independent work. For instance, he developed a unique toning process that enriches the colour and opulence of his photographs. His subjects include urban architecture, seascapes and meticulously detailed botanical and nature studies. A similar attentiveness to the clarity of line, form, pattern and texture characterizes Baril's still lifes.
