On 21 October 1967, Marc Riboud photographed 17-year-old Jan Rose Kasmir in Washington D.C. during a protest against the Vietnam War. Holding a flower, she stands facing armed soldiers. Marc Riboud pressed the shutter – it was the last photograph on his roll of film. The image became an icon of the anti-war and Flower Power movements. In 2003, Riboud photographed Kasmir again – at a demonstration against the Iraq War, holding a poster of his famous photograph.

Am 21. Oktober 1967 fotografierte Marc Riboud in Washington D.C. die 17-jährige Jan Rose Kasmir beim Protest gegen den Vietnamkrieg. Mit einer Blume in der Hand steht sie bewaffneten Soldaten gegenüber. Marc Riboud drückte ab – es war das letzte Foto auf seinem Film. Das Bild wurde zur Ikone der Anti-Kriegs- und Flower-Power-Bewegung. 2003 fotografierte Riboud Kasmir erneut – bei einer Demonstration gegen den Irakkrieg, mit einem Poster seines berühmten Fotos in den Händen.
