Swiss photographer René Burri visited China for the first time in 1964, commissioned by Pakistan International Airlines to document the inauguration of the international air connection between Karachi and Shanghai or Beijing; his delicate sense of composition shows the aesthetic range of the second Magnum generation, when also abstract elements got to determine the image.
