Vintage gelatin silver print on Lugda Lumière paper 8.8 x 6.2 cm, in very good condition. Numeral stamp "662E" on the reverse. The authenticity of this extremely rare collector's item is confirmed by the author of the most encompassing monographs on the work of the photographer: Patrick Martinat, Bascoulard. Dessinateur virtuose, clochard magnifique, femme inventée, Les Cahiers Dessinés, Paris 2014.

Bascoulard, known as an illustrator, had been posing in front of the camera in women's clothing since the early 1940s; earlier photographs of him are extremely rare collector's items.
