Matte collodion print, printed c. 1890, 12 x 17 cm, in very good condition. Stamped by the younger brother, business partner and successor of the photographer, Victor Angerer (1839–1894), handwritten date in pencil on the reverse.
Depicted from left are Archduke Karl Ludwig, father of Archduke Franz Ferdinand (whose assassination in 1914 would ignite World War I); Archduke Ludwig Victor, nicknamed "Luziwuzi"; Emperor Franz Joseph I seated at the table; Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian, who became Emperor of Mexico.
Deutsch:
Matt-Kollodiumabzug, um 1890 geprintet, 12 x 17 cm, in sehr gutem Zustand. Rückseitig Stempel von Victor Angerer (1839–1894), dem jüngeren Bruder, Geschäftspartner und Nachfolger des Fotografen sowie handschriftlich datiert mit Bleistift.
Von links nach rechts: Erzherzog Karl Ludwig, Vater von Franz Ferdinand (dessen Ermordung im Jahr 1914 den Ersten Weltkrieg auslöste), Erzherzog Ludwig Victor, von der Familie "Luziwuzi" genannt; Kaiser Franz Joseph I. am Tisch sitzend; Erzherzog Ferdinand Maximilian, der spätere Kaiser von Mexiko.
