Minkkinnen has been creating his impressive oeuvre of self-portraits since the 1970s, working according to a consistent principle: Using an analogue camera and self-timer, he photographs himself naked in timeless natural landscapes, without assistance or subsequent manipulation. In the long tradition of open-air nudes, he nevertheless succeeds in creating astonishing depictions of the body and extraordinary pictorial inventions.

Seit den 1970er-Jahren arbeitet Minkkinnen an seinem beeindruckenden Oeuvre an Selbstporträts, wobei er einem gleichbleibenden Prinzip treu bleibt: Mit analoger Kamera und Selbstauslöser fotografiert er sich nackt in zeitlosen Naturlandschaften, ohne Assistenz oder nachträgliche Manipulation. Nach der langen Tradition von Freiluft-Akten gelingen ihm dennoch verblüffende Körperdarstellungen und außergewöhnliche Bildfindungen.
