Shortly after Cornell, Robert Capa's youngest brother, became a full member of Magnum, he published a photo essay on the ultra-orthodox community of Satmar Hasidim in "Life" magazine in June 1955. Hasidic teachings reject secular Zionism and the modern way of life and are oriented towards the mystical writings of Judaism; religious practice is carried out to the point of ecstasy.

Die chassidische Lehre lehnt den säkularen Zionismus und die moderne Lebensweise ab und orientiert sich an den mystischen Schriften des Judentums, die religiöse Praxis wird bis zur Ekstase praktiziert.
