The British documentary photographer, photojournalist and collector Martin Parr is one of the most important members of Magnum in recent times; from 2013 to 2017 he was the president of the legendary agency. A direct, humorous and anthropological view of everyday situations characterize his work. In the series "Cakes and Balls" Parr explores the clichés and traditions of the Austrian capital. The work was commissioned on the occasion of Parr's retrospective at the Austrian Kunst Haus Wien in 2016 and exhibited there for the first time.
