The endeavour to detach the photographic image from reality and from the shot subject is evident in Haas' entire oeuvre; a large part of his abstract works are so-called "Torn Posters", details of torn billboards, also he was fascinated by the abstracting qualities of reflections as a pictorial subject. Also he was a pioneer in the use of colour in the field of Fine Art Photography. This beautifully printed image is a rare collector's item.
文献:William Manchester(编辑),《In our Time: The world as seen by Magnum photographers》,伦敦,1989年,第192页;Ruth Peltason / Ernst Haas Estate编辑的《Ernst Haas, Color Photography》,纽约,1989年,第80页;《Ernst Haas: New York in Color, 1952-1962》,慕尼黑,2020年,第17页。
